Alpha Course
The Alpha Course is an opportunity to explore the Christian faith in an informal manner through video and discussion. It will be running via Zoom on Monday evenings at 7:30PM from Mon 7th March 2022.

As we return to some semblance of normality after Covid this is a great opportunity to remind ourselves of what it is we believe when we call ourselves Christians. It is also an opportunity to invite someone who doesn’t yet know Jesus to share with you using your internet in the comfort of your home.

Contact Rev. Elizabeth Childs on ☏ 01427 610057 or ✉ elizachilds@tiscali.co.uk to express your interest and she will send the code to you each week along with the link to the film in case you are unable to attend.

BIBLE STUDY & PRAYER

Prayer & Study Image
  • Bible Fellowship @ GMC
  • Each Tuesday morning at 10:00AM a small fellowship group joins Rev. Louise Carr within Room 1 at GMC to study scripture, interpretations and reflections and engage in focused discussion. We will often follow a particular course of Bible Study linked to particular times of the year such as at Lent, Easter and Christmas.

Our sessions will often include Prayer, Coffee and Biscuits and lively conversation as we benefit from the many insights bought by those who attend.
  • Zoom Bible Study
  • There is a monthly Bible Study that is run by Rev. Elizabeth Childs via Zoom. The meeting will be available on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 2:00PM. (Please contact Liz for the Zoom meeting details @ ☏ 01427 610057).
  • Fortnightly Midweek Prayer Meeting
  • Fortnightly on a Wednesday at 10:15AM a small group joins Rev. Elizabeth Childs via Zoom to pray about specific prayer requests, as well as for our world, nation, local community and Church. (Please contact Mike Childs for the Zoom meeting details @ ☏ 01427 610057). Joining the group is a great way to pray with others and connect with our Lord.

We have a Prayer Box positioned within the Church Foyer. Please place any requests in the box and they will be included in our weekly prayers. Each request will be treated in confidence.

  • Circuit Prayer Group
  • Morning prayers are offered from 9:00AM until 10:00AM on Saturday mornings. Please contact Rev. Heather Wilson at ✉ wilsonhthr56@aol.com for the updated timetable, and the Zoom Meeting details. (Some Saturday mornings will be at an earlier time due to other commitments.)

Each week there has been a focus on a different church or chapel in this circuit. We have prayed for Presbyters, Deacons, Stewards, Local Preachers, and Administrators. We have prayed for Schools, Governors in schools, Teachers, and Students. We also prayed for Planet Earth and Cop-26. We are not restricted to the Wolds and Trent Circuit, we have also prayed for other Circuits, the 3-Circuits Project, the Connexional team, the Methodist Conference, and other denominations. Our current focus is on prayers for ‘the Church’ Invisible, or the Worldwide Church.

James 5:16, “The effective, fervent pray of a righteous person avails much.”

As we pray together, and we are fervent in prayer we believe that God will answer, and our prayers will bring about significant results. So, please join us to pray. It’s not complicated and it’s good to pray together periodically.
  • Prayers for the Ukraine
  • We urge you to also pray for the people of Ukraine today. You can find prayers and worship resources from the Methodist Church in Britain to help you respond here.

You can also find a Liturgy for Peace, developed by the All We Can team, for use in your church here.
